When A Crown Is The Right Restoration

Crowns are recommended when a tooth has been weakened by a large filling, a fracture, a root canal, or significant wear. A crown surrounds the tooth and restores its full structural integrity.

Materials And Method

We use all-porcelain and porcelain-fused-to-zirconia restorations for the front of the mouth where aesthetics matter most. For molars, we choose materials that maximize long-term strength. Same-visit CEREC crowns are available in many cases.

Bridges

A traditional bridge replaces a missing tooth by anchoring to the teeth on either side. For patients who are not candidates for implants, a bridge is often an excellent and conservative solution.

Frequently Asked

Common questions about crowns.

When do I actually need a crown?
When a tooth is weakened by a large filling, a fracture, a root canal, or heavy wear. A crown wraps the whole tooth and restores its strength when a simple filling would not hold up over time.
What are dental crowns made of?
We use all-porcelain or porcelain-fused-to-zirconia for front teeth where appearance matters, and stronger materials for molars. Each choice is matched to the tooth, your bite, and the surrounding smile.
Can I get a crown in a single visit?
In many cases, yes. Same-visit CEREC crowns are milled in the office, so the right tooth can be designed, fabricated, and placed in one appointment, sparing you a temporary and a second trip.
How long do crowns and bridges last?
With routine cleanings and good home care, most crowns and bridges last well over a decade, often far longer. We check every restoration at your recall visits and address wear before it becomes a problem.
